As Ervand Abrahamian pointed out, "The White Revolution had been designed to preempt a Red Revolution. كما أشار إرفاند أبراهاميان إلى أن «الثورة البيضاء كانت مصمّمة لاستباق الثورة الحمراء، بل مهد الطريق لثورة إسلامية».
Thus the White Revolution in Iran represented a new attempt to introduce reform from above and preserve traditional power patterns. وهكذا شكلت الثورة البيضاء في إيران محاولة جديدة لإدخال الإصلاح من فوق والحفاظ على أنماط السلطة التقليدية.
